Amano Shrimp - Caridina multidentata

Amano Shrimp - Caridina multidentata - are native to Taiwan and Japan. They are named after Takashi Amano, famed Japanese aquarist and photographer, who introduced them to the hobby in the 1980's. They feed primarily on algae which makes them a great aquarium cleaner. However, you should always supplement their diets with other food. They will eat almost any fish or shrimp foods. They prefer pH ranges of 6.5 to 7.5 and water temperatures between 64 to 82°F (18 °C to 28 °C).
