Apistogramma Agassizii (Wild-Caught) are from South America. The males are more colourful than females, displaying vibrant hues of blue, red, and yellow. Their colour can also depend on breeding status, water parameters and overall mood! These fish can be kept in groups but the tank needs to be large enough and have enough spaces males to claim their own territory. They can be kept in a community tank but can be aggressive during breeding so it's best to keep the lower/mid levels of the aquarium clear for them. Schooling tetra and top dwellers are a perfect tank mate for them.
Water parameters:
- Temperature: 75-82°F (24-28°C)
- pH: 6-7.5
- Tank size: 20 gallons for a pair or small group.
