The Bolivian ram, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus, are endemic to Bolivia (surprise) and Brazil in the Southern Amazon river basin. They sport yellow, blue, black and red colouring and can grow up to 3 inches. They're also considered much more peaceful than their cichlid cousins and are safe to add to a 20+ gallon community tank.
They prefer water temperatures between 72-79°F (22-26°C) and a pH range from 6.0-7.5
