Bumblebee Catfish, Microglanis iheringi, are originally from South America. In their natural habitat, bumblebee catfish prefer rivers with strong currents. These bodies of water tend to have rocky substrates where these fish love to hide. Not a great display fish, as they prefer to come out at night.

They're a great addition to tanks that need some livebearer population control. Fry are usually gone overnight if you've got some bumblebee catfish in the tank with them.

They can be kept solo or in groups. Reaching roughly 3 inches, bumblebee catfish still require more space and are recommended to be kept in 20+ gallon tanks.

These resilient yellow and black fish enjoy tropical temperature waters between 71-79°F (22-26°C) and softer water with a pH between 6.5-7.5.
