Dumbo Female Betta

The Dumbo Female Betta, Betta splendens, or Elephant Ear Betta is native to South East Asia and has been domesticated for the past 1000 years, among the longest of any fish. Females are able to be kept in a group or 'sorority'. You can keep an individual in a 3+ gallon or groups of 4 or more in a 20+ gallon tank. The Dumbo betta gets its name from having large pelvic fins that resemble elephant ears. They prefer a pH of 6.5-7.5 and a temperature between 76–85° F.
