Hillstream Loach (Turquoise)

This particular Hillstream Loach sports turquoise colouring on the dorsal and tail fins. In the wild, hillstream loaches adapted to live in shallow fast-moving streams and rivers. The sun creates algae on the rocks of the shallow stream and the hillstreams feed off of it in a symbiotic relationship. 

These fish would thrive if give the option of fast-flowing water in their tanks. Water between 65-80°F (20-27°C) is acceptable, but at higher temperatures, they may be more susceptible to stress and illnesses. A stable pH between 7-8 is preferred. 

They're peaceful algae eaters that would be great in any cold-water aquarium
