Jewel Cichlid

The Jewel Cichlid, Hemichromis bimaculatus, is also known as the African jewelfish. They're found in streams and rivers throughout West Africa. Jewel cichlids have a red body and yellow-red fins with deep blue spots covering their bodies. The recommended tank size for Jewel cichlids is 30 gallons. They prefer pH of 6-7.8 and a temperature of 72-82°F. They can be aggressive towards smaller fish so it is recommended to keep with with similar sized fish like Congo Tetra or Synodontis catfish.
