Scarlet Badis

Scarlet Badis, Dario dario, is a tropical freshwater fish and one of the smallest known percoid species. It is a micropredator and feeds on small crustaceans, worms and insect larvae. They usually stay under and inch in size (~.8 inches). The distribution of this species appears to be restricted to tributary systems draining into the Brahmaputra River in parts of West Bengal and Assam states of India.

They can be kept with other peaceful nano fish (pygmy corydoras, microrasboras, and small tetra). They're peaceful and timid but the males can be aggressive with each other when establishing territory. It's recommended to keep a male with a group of females if you have them in a smaller tank.
