Sparkling Gourami

The sparkling gourami, Trichopsis pumila, is also known as the pygmy gourami and are native to Southeast Asia. They can reach a length of 1.6 inches. Sparkling gourami are red, green and blue with iridescent colouring depending on how the light hits them. 

They're naturally found in waters with a pH range 6-7.5 and temperatures from 25 to 28°C (77 to 82 °F). They are not a schooling fish so they can be kept in solo's, pairs or groups. It is recommended to have a pair in a 5+ gallon tank and upgrade the size when the number of fish requires it. Ideal tankmates would be smaller aquaria like tetras, rasboras, corydoras and guppies.
